How's the ammo availability?

I've been getting email ads showing increasing availability, and even lower prices. Still just deleting them until I see something I consider 'reasonable'.

Alan0354: You didn't specify whether the question was about online, or local ammo.

"..availability": For the first time in about a year, AIMsurplus offers 7.62x39 .

And the price "span" for this chambering at JGsales is now stable at $400/1,000 rds.

Tiny improvement, and many New shooters might finally realize that the first gun they recently bought will just remain in a dresser drawer or closet etc.

The Senate can't even count on passing UBC, let alone anything more drastic. It is sinking into some people.... Soon this could be sad news for ammo flippers.
* This was extremely common even Before the Wuhan Virus Panic hysteria began.

Bad in Indianapolis. I have to make a 2hr drive to a shop where I grew up to find it.
His shop has a good supply on rifle and pistol calibers. 9mm is limited to 2 boxes and is $25 a box. 308 is running about $25 per 20 and up. 22s are about $15 per 100 for cci. He has 223 but I load my own so I have not checked prices.

Getting better, but better is relative. Things are not 'normal' by a long shot. (No pun intended.) Talking to people I know (one is manager of a parts supply, one is the premiere sales person of a small employee clothing store, a couple are FFL holders and retailers) all the trucking companies are 'booked' solid for the foreseeable future.

There is not a lack of merchandise - although supply of raw materials is not helping production - but a lack of delivery from manufacturer to sales point. And the distributor in between.

So, who is making a killing? Just those who buy up all they can get to resell at gun shows or on a street corner. And the individuals who pay outlandish prices keep it going.

Tighten your belts, ladies and gentlemen.

I've been finding it on-line at normal prices for the past couple of weeks. I've ordered a case of CCI Mini Mags, one of CCI-SV and another of CCI Blazer. I also found 22 Magnums for sale at a good price.

I've spent my allowance so now other can get more ammo. I figure I now have enough for this year's competitions. I hope I don't have to go through this again next year.

CCI & Federal have had various types for weeks now, you just have to be up early to catch it. I've also bought from Natchez and TSUSA.

Visited the Lawton Academy store yesterday. The long gun racks were nearly full, they had three AR-10 type rifles. More shotgun ammunition than my last visit, a few boxes Winchester .22 magnum ammo at $9.99. About 20 boxes of Winchester M80 7.62mm ball and much Norma .22 match ammo at $9.99.

Last three times I've gone by Academy I've scored 2 boxes of 9 mm. Today they had three different brands of 9 (Winchester steel, Blazer brass, Remington Brass, Norma 22LR, 45, 38, 308, 223, and others I didn't bother to glance at. I think it's slowing improving. The Blazer was 18.00 a box of 50. Winchester White 100 count box 2 days ago was $34.79.

That's a reasonable price for Blazer, the last time I purchased a 50 round box was in 2013, and it was $18.00.

Picked up a brick of 1000 CCI Small Rifle Primers at Scheels last Friday afternoon, less than $45 after tax. No bullets I needed-they had some 40 defense rounds & 357 Sig & that was it for handgun ammo. Nothing at Sportsman's Warehouse when I checked there after leaving Scheels-it's all about being there at the right time

Only 9mm ammo I've seen around me is at a tiny antique gun shop. A couple of boxes of garbage Tula. Get this. It wasn't even the gun store owner's inventory. It was on CONSIGNMENT....for $100.

A box of 50, that is.

I NEVER thought I would see ammo....ammo....be on consignment.

What in the wide world of sports is going on?!
