How light can you get a 308 semi-auto rifle?

I was curious because I've seen some AR-15 models that people have slimmed down to 5 pounds and change loaded, which is amazing for what they do. A little research suggested to me that you can't really get an AR-10 below 8 pounds. Does anyone know of a comparable (high capacity, long-distance-accurate) .308 semi-auto that is lighter than the AR-10?

I don't know if the BAR is in the same accuracy class as a quality AR-10.

7.9 lbs, and an 18" barrel. That is rifle, but not sights. Other models around 8.3 lbs. My LR308 is NOT a lightweight model, about 11 lbs, plus scope.
