how close to home?

Does anyone have any idea how close to home most civilian shootings

happen? They always say most car wrecks are within 10 miles of your home,

I just wondered what it was for self defence?


What really got me thinking about this is all the times I have read "I'll just

stuff a J frame in the pocket if I'm going down to the corner market, but load

for bear if going across town."

I'm as guilty as the next guy/gal about not carrying as much if I'm 'only

going 1 place close to home'. Shouldn't we be as/more vigilant when close to

home? What are your thoughts?

I have thought the same thing when i run down the road to the gas station. I'll be walking out the door thinking i'll be right back. And then think " What if " then i go back and get my pistol and extra mag. Better to have and not need than need and not have. I would feel really stupid laying on the floor of the gas station while i'm being robbed. Wishing i took that extra ten seconds to put on the pistol.

Treat your carry weapon like your wallet. If not when the time comes that it might save your life or someones life' you probably wont have it.
