Since I handload for my Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in 45 Colt, I got the itch to own one in a lever action. Sure enough, Big 5 (a chain here in Southern California) had a Win 95 Ranger on special for $279 and I bought one.
So the natural question is can the Winchester handle the same loads as the Ruger? I currently shoot 255g lead RNFP with 20g Win296 or 300 g RNFP with 22g Win296.
I know these are warm loads - they are right out of Paco's stories on www.sixgunner.com. The Ruger handles them just fine, thank you. Will the W95?
