I, too, thought it would be a violation of copyright laws. Maybe Uncle Nick can clarify. In any case, it would be pointless. My 11th edition copy of Hornady's reloading handbook does not contain loading data for the 100 grain, .277 diameter, CX bullet in the 6.8 SPC...only for the 100 grain GMX bullet, which has been discontinued. The GMX and CX bullets are very similar, but I don't have a clue about the interchangeability of loading data.

If you go to the Hornady website, and then to the support page, and then click on load data, you will find new loading data, not yet published. Most of the data was for the new CX bullet, but there was nothing listed for the 6.8 SPC. From that I would infer that Hornady does not yet have the data for the 100 grain CX in the 6.8 SPC, which may explain the difficulty locating that specific load information.

Handloader magazine does have an on-line article with data for the 100 grain CX in the 6.8 SPC. I don't know how to do a link here, but the URL for the article is: handloadermagazine.com/6-8-remington-spc. The magazine article only had data for three powders, which didn't seem all that common. They were Norma 130, Accurate LT-30, and Shooter's World Tactical.

I made it a link for you. Click on edit to see how I did that.

You can also call Hornady and see if they've come up with any data yet that they can share with you. Bullet makers want to sell bullets, so they usually give away data as long as you are talking about one cartridge and bullet at a time.

Photos of databook pages can only be put on this board if you get permission from the copyright holder and provide an attribution.

Thanks for all the info,I guess I'll be calling Hornady tomorrow.seems odd to me they would sell bullets without any load data for them.

@Unclenick: Thanks for fixing my post. You're a good man.

@Shadow9mm: Unless your 11th Hornady edition is different from mine, it does not have data for the 100 grain CX. It has data for the GMX bullet. I think the two bullets are virtually identical, but I don't know how identical, and I don't know about the interchangeability of load data. Perhaps the original poster can ask when he calls Hornady.

If Hornady has data for the 100 CX in a 6.8 SPC, I'm pretty sure they will share it. Years ago I bought a Rem 700 classic chambered for .221 fireball, and Hornady sent me a large sheaf of unpublished .221 rifle data. The interesting part was that the information consisted of photo-copied lined tablet paper, with the load data hand written by their ballistics technician.

I have the digital edition. It lists both the 100g cx and and gmx. Col is identical, however they list the cx with a bc of 0.262, and the gmx with a bc of 0.310. Other than that load data is identical for the 2 bullets.

@Shadow9mm: Thanks for the correction. That's interesting. I guess I need to move from paper into the digital 21st century. Although I think I'll say no to a new Tesla.

I've got the printed 11th Edition. Hornady only has data listed for the 100 gr GMX bullet. Sounds like the CX won't make it to the printed edition until the next printing since the CX is a the newer bullet to the similar GMX bullet. If you have Accurate 2200 powder, I'd try it first. Thats the goto powder for the 6.8 SPC. I use 2200 with bullets from 90 - 120 grs.
