Hornady 168 A-Max 308 versus Federal Gold Match 168

With ammo prices what they are I'm seriously considering using Hornady instead of Federal match ammo. Of course every rifle will digest it differently, but anybody have any feedback on the A-Max?

I've heard nothing but good things about the A-max. I actually have switched over to Hornady bullets after using Sierra Matchkings (used in the gold match) because the Hornady's are cheaper, but still work just as well (if not better).

Try a box and see for yourself.

In my 10FP nothing shoots as well as the 168 gr. Sierra Match King. I load it in front of 42.0 gr. of RE-15, and use Federal Match primers.
I have come to expect groups of no more than 1/2" at 200 yards, if I do my part. This comes to just about 1/4 MOA, and is just about as tight as I can hold. This is shooting prone, with a bi-pod. Probably do a bit better off a bench.
Thought I would get my $.02 worth in.
Good luck

There are some well respected Camp Perry shooters that swear by the .223 75gr AMAX.
My go-to factory load is a 77gr MatchKing.
not sure I added anything but bandwidth to this post....
