Isn't HK a subsidiary of Daisy of Rogers, Arkansas? The ones I've handled have a similar feel to the bb guns... :)

I think BigG Is right! I handled an HK-91 a few years ago, and the furnitures did feel like the ones on those Daisy bb guns.

Seriously!

Shame on you BigG! That statement is like, well, satanic!

What part of your head did that statement come from? ;)

I think HK lost its shirt over the caseless G11 stgw. It was on the verge of adoption by the Bundeswher but the Berlin Wall came crashing down and along with it, much of the prospects for a new rifle. I think they got bought up, but I don't know by whom. Members?

British Aerospace bought HK in late 1991 through its Royal Ordnance subsidiary. BAe and RO then proceeded to lay off 40% of the HK Oberndorf work force over the next 18 months. To add insult to injury, RO renamed its Nottingham assembly facility 'Heckler & Koch (UK)' in hopes of spinning the controversy over the poorly assembled L85A1 rifles. (The only major L85A1 part that HK-Oberndorf provided were barrels.)

At least HK still exists, which can't be said of the previous RO takeover: Sterling.
