Hiram Maxim

Here's a question for you firearms history buffs. As we know, Hiram Stevens Maxim perfected the machine gun a little before the turn of the century. As I was looking through my American Radio Relay League handbook today, I saw a picture of Hiram Percy Maxim, the grandfather of ham radio. Does anyone know if these two great inventors were related? Father and son? I don't have a picture of H. S. Maxim to see if they even looked alike.

Hiram Percy Maxim was Sir Maxim's son. He invented a silencer for guns and mufflers for engines as well as working on electrical appliances. Sir Maxim also had a brother named Hudson who invented an explosive, a smokeless powder, and a self-propelled torpedo. They were a busy family, to say the least.

Thanks DHH - I had forgotten about old Hiram Percy. The names were so similar I wondered if they were related. Between the 3 of them they could swap monogrammed shirts with no problem. :)
