Hesse Arms AR/.223: Are they any good?

How do Hesse Arm AR's stack up when compared to similar AR's produced by Olympic Arms and Armalite? How about DPMS AR's? Are they any good?

Are the 62 grain M855 fmj's accurate out of rifles with a 1:9" twist? Would I be better off to stick with the more abundant and cheaper 55 grain fmj bullets?

I couldn't tell you a lot about the Hesse receiver, but the DPMS is cast aluminum instead of forged.

I would put Colt, Armalite, and Bushmaster on the same high level. Olympic would be slightly lower.

I checked every where I could before I got my AR-15 Bushmaster Shorty and for the money Bushmaster is the one!
Check out these sites about the AR-15 before you buy.

Also check out the AR-15 forum they have alot of information;

Hope this helps out.

I examined a Hesse receiver today, side by side with a DPMS and a Colt. The Hesse is certainly better than the DPMS, but well below the quality of a Colt/Armalite/Bushmaster.

Maybe it was just the finish, but I suspect that the Hesse receiver is also cast. It didn't have the tell- tale raised letters like the DPMS.
