Help with M44 value?

I have a Mosin M44, round receiver, Izhevsk manufacture, 1945r date stamp. Good condition, bore is typical, good rifling, dark full length grooves, and it shoots very nicely. Doing some research, I found this on the 7.62X54R website:

A little over halfway down is a reference to a "Hardwood Stock with Laminated Toe Splice"

Which is listed as "Uncommon"

Rest of the rifle, next to its compatriot:

Is that what I have? Is it Uncommon, and if so what does that do to the value? I'm finding that the rifle is going for about $230 from retailers now, what would be a fair market value for this?
Thanks,

I'd say the laminated toe splice is what you've got, but I doubt you could talk anyone into paying more for it. It's uncommon because those stocks were scrap blanks that were too small for a full stock. So, they added another chunk of scrap wood to increase the size of the blank at the toe. Garbage + garbage = something useful.

As for value... that depends on your area.
In my area, you might be able to get $200 out of it; but it may take some time. And, most potential buyers are automatically going to assume that toe splice was a re-arsenal repair, done to a broken stock. So, they'll want to pay even less.

If the rifle shows evidence of being re-arsenaled (toe splice aside), you'll lose another 10-20% of the value. Since your rifle appears to have the wrong handguard, that's a likely scenario.

Ok. So in this instance "uncommon" means "a lower than normal percentage of the umpteen millions produced" and isn't overall that special.

Thanks!!
