Could someone reccomend a set of rings that won't break the bank for my 22mag Marlin 883. My scope is a Mueller 4.5-14x40AO.

If you are using the .22 sized rail, and the rings are sliding along the base, try some super glue between them. Ive heard it works well. Or maybe some loctite.

I scoped my K31 Schmidt Rubin using the Swiss Products Clamp-On scope mount. That uses a 3/8 dovetail rail - same as a 22.

I bought the cheapest rings I could - went to Big 5 and got the Barska rings for $9.99. They have stayed completely secure, even with shooting the 7.5x55 Swiss. They may work for you ...

The 3/8 dovetail used on 22's is smaller than the 11mm dovetail used on most air rifles. They are close enough that it shouldn't matter, but I would check to make sure you have 3/8 rings not 11mm rings.

Both Leupold and Burris make rings for 1" scopes on 22 rifles that clamp onto the tip-off scope mount grooves.
