Help ID this SxS

I was in a gun store this afternoon and I saw this Coach SxS with 18.5" barrel. It has "Ranger" marking on the left side of the action and it is case-hardened steel action in 12g. The store owner said it was made in US but that's about it. Anybody knows the history of this shotgun? He wants $250.00 for it. Is that a good buy?

Stoeger? It's hammerless I guess? Ranger is a Winchester semi-auto name.
Maybe it's Rossi or Baikal. Perhaps you could look through 'shotguns - coach guns' on gunsamerica, might recognise it from there - Good Luck.

Ranger was a house brand for Wards, IIRC. The Ranger SxS I had was a family gun made by Stevens. It too had a case hardened action.

Is this a used shotgun? It may be a Stevens 311, a good quality firearm.

Ranger was also a registered trade name of Sears. From your description it is similar to the Stevens 311, I have found the attached in SXS's of the World 2K by Charles Carder,

The fore end looks similar. The p/n is located below the barrel on top of the action. I Believe on the left side. It is a used shotgun with no mar on the finish.
