Help finding a part

I have a Marlin model 336 that I need help finding a part for. The rifle is marked "336 Octagonal" and has a curved butt plate that is impossible to find! Can anyone tell me where I might find this part, or at least its proper name?

There are ads in Shotgun News and The Gun List of others who have stray, oddball and obsolete parts.
