OK, are these decent rifles? I have been thinking about a bolt .22 lately, and the price on these certainly isn't bad on the M12, $225. Everything I read about the gun seems to put them as a real decent shooting gun. I don't need a field gun, I already have a 10/22 for that, so the weight and size doesn't bother me.
What I want to really know about, is what I can do for sights/scopes on this gun. It doesn't come with any sights, or handguard for that matter (Although I have found those for about $20, no big deal there if I end up wanting it).
Also, is the Mossberg 144 a decent alternative? Research on my part seems to indicate that it will be not quite as accurate as teh M12, but on the plus side it has the sights. All it is missing is the magazine, which can be had for about $30. It is $229.
