H-335 & BLC-2

I've used H-335 with great results with 50 gr. bullets in my 223 VLS.
Wondering how BLC-2 will do, and which one do you like best and why?

To me H335 is about the right burn rate for the 50 grain bullet. BL-(C)2 is much better suited for heavier bullet weights. Not saying it will not work for you, but 50 and 55 grain bullets tend to favor the quicker powders.

I experimented with BL-C2 and 223 with varying bullet weights. Seems like 15 years ago. I never achieved the accuracy I wanted no matter what combination of bullet & weight I tried. Rifles I experimented a the time consisted of a automatic, a singleshot, and a match grade bolt action.
Not saying your results may equal mine as things change over the years.

My principle powders for the 223 are H335 & TAC. Varget is good too, but was not around when I did my tests.
Right now with the scarcity of all reloading components commonly used with the 223, I would not hesitate to try different from the norm that includes BLC2.

My best accuracy has come with H335 with bullets from 35 grains up through 55 grains.
H4895 has been close second but H335 has a slight edge.
I think it might have to do with the finer grain powder and the better metering. H322 which is about the same as H335 but with the consistency as H4895 doesn't shoot as well as H322 either.

From 60 through 69 grain bullets, the H4895 has slightly better accuracy.
Seems like the H335 is better suited to lighter bullet weights in my CZ 527 with a 1:9 twist.
I would suspect that BLC(2) would also be suited to the heavier bullets.

I have always seemed to find some other powder that shoots better than BLC(2) in every caliber that I have used it with. Not that it isn't accurate but I haven't had really great results with it. It could be that I just haven't worked hard enough to find the velocity and depth that it likes in my rifles.

Althought, not my choice for the smaller calibers, BL-C2 is one of my favorite powders. I use it exclusively with 300 Savage, 35 Rem, and 30-30. BL-C2 is great in .308 Win.
