gunshow background checks

do they do back ground checks at gunshows my friend bought a gun at one a while back he said someone run a check on him , ive heard they do and then i heard they dont ,as far as private sells

If you purchase a gun from a FFL, he has to do a background check wherever he is selling the gun - unless that State exempts CCW permits. If you buy a gun from an individual at a show, then a background check isn't done unless it is required by the State.

Yep. If they have an FFL, they do a check. If they don't, they don't. Plus, individuals tend to bargain better--especially with cash.
