The only way you can get around using a FFL to transfer a firearm purchased over the internet is to find a private citizen in your state to sell you the weapon. If you find one on the internet, you can do a person to person transfer under these circumstances. If you find what you want outside your state, find a local dealer and ask him/her for an ink signed copy of their FFL. Send the FFL to your seller. Once your FFL receives your new firearm, they will most likely want you to pay a transfer fee. This fee is usually anywhere from $10 to $25 with the higher amount being the norm. Hope this helps.

Of course, one should mention the Curios & Relics license here.

If you are buying firearms over 50 years old, you can be recieve them directly with no fee per gun for a single payment of $30 for three years. I've saved several thousand dollars in fees building my collection, a real bargain! :D:D
