Gun Transfer Tax & Registration Bill

Any new word on this? Go to www.senate.gov then scroll down to search - enter SB-2099.

The bill would provide for a transfer tax of $50 on handguns, registration thereof, and sharing of the registration info with local law enforcement agencies.

Last word on its status is it was referred to the finance committee. Was there a previous thread on this? Has the bill died in committee? Will it?

Everybody registered on this forum needs to write and call their Senator's ASAP and politely request that they oppose this bill.

This bill was intended to bring handguns under the same ATF rules as class III firearms. According to the current congresscritters, it's dead as a doornail.
