Gun Shipping Question

I do not have hold an FFL. I have a gun that I want to ship for refininishing. The screws holding the stock on are not in the best shape. I would like to ship the gun in without removing the stock. Must I ship it through an FFL or may I ship it myself through UPS? Thanks

You can ship it yourself if it's going in for repair. The UPS site clearly outlines their requirements for shipping guns. Handguns must be sent overnight air if you go with UPS, don't believe that applies to long guns.

If it is a long gun, ship it by common carrier or you can mail it. But get the shop doing the work to send you a signed copy of their FFL so you can show the carrier (UPS, FedEx, USPS) that the gun is going to a licensee.

Shipping gun

If you use a hard side gun case, like a Docsol ,be sure to use a cardborad box and not just the case or they will charge you extra.
