grip switch on 342pd?

A friend of mine bought a new 342pd in December. I never noticed until now but the grips are uncle mike boot grips, not hoague Bantams. did the gun ever come with anything but hogues? I thought not and maybe the dealer pulled a switch on him......

Mine did.

However, I got the early production 342 that is all gray, before the 342pd came out. They may have just used up the old boot grips before putting the bantam grips on the PD series.
I ordered the bantam grips straight from Hogue, love em.
