Greenville, Kentucky to unveil a statue honoring Lt. Ephraim M. Brank

Brank was the Battle of New Orleans rifleman who stood atop of the cotton bale wall and began shooting the British down at about 267 yards. The unveiling will be on May 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Muhlenberg County Courthouse & Veterans Memorial Plaza. The distance may not sound impressive today, but remember he was using a round ball, flintlock rifle.

For more information on Brank, here's my article on him that was originally published in the August, 2003 issue of Muzzle Blasts. http://www.snipercountry.com/Articles/LoneMarksmanRevisited.asp
