Green Dot in .44 magnum?

My son-in-law gave me two lbs of green dot, and I was wondering if anyone has tried many loadings in .44 mag with this powder? I have tried 6.6 grains behind a 240 gr SWC, and it seems to be an extremely accurate load for plinking. I usually use Unique for my plinking loads, and H110 for my full power loads.

Speer lists 6.0 to 7.0 gr of Green Dot behind their soft swaged lead 240 gr SWC in the 44 mag case, so your load seems about right.

Thanks for telling us it shoots good.

Neat, you got about 2,000 rounds worth of plinking powder

Actually just a bit more at 6.6gr. Nice gift. Now can you get him to give you the slugs to go with it?

Wish my son in law was like that. All I ever got from him was a chess set!

And a granddaughter:), but I don't think he did that for me!

I wish he had given me some bullets. LOL Alas, he only loads shotgun rounds, but he does keep me well supplied with those!
