Got a new one today.

I haven't seen one of these before, but I just had to snag it once I saw it. I think it'll be fun in my .45 Seneca or my .45 Hawken. Does anybody else have one?

Sorry it's a little big. Photobucket wanted it to be big for some reason.

{Edit: Size fix: You can Google on photo image resizing and find lots of free services that will do it to your existing size photo. You should then be able to upload the resized version to an image file host, or do what I did and use this board as the host using the Go Advanced/Manage Attachments functions here. That way you know the file will always be here, even when Photobucket decides to try to blackmail you for an exorbitant fee.}

Took me a minute for the Hawken part to register..

I've been staring at too many lube grooves and bases from fresh cast. Looks like I got in a little bit of a rush to dump a few pours and managed to mangle quite a few 9mm.

And I really wanted to cast today too. It's raining hard here.... just a tiny spot on the radar. It won't last ten minutes, then it's going to be 95° today. The heat index will be just stupid kinda hot. I guess it's a reloading day indoors.

LOL I hear ya, welcome to my world....:(

On a lighter note, I've managed to pour up about 60# of alloy over the past month of weekends. Really like that MP 41-260 ?is it? I shipped some up to my bud in MO and he's getting around 1" groups with 13ish grains of AA9.

The three grandsons will be here for the summer shortly and I plan on giving those 44s over to the oldest to work on. I got SO much to do shesh.

That round appears to have all the ballistic qualities of a 55 gallon drum. Reminds me of " man stoppers" or dum dum rounds. I'd like to see some finished castings and hear how they fire for you when you do get some out.

I should be making some here soon. I get furloughed (laid off:mad:) on July 23rd and I'm planning a huge casting blitz after that for a couple of weeks. :)

I have something like that, it is a 58 cal. with a base that makes the base hollow. It is older but made perfect bullets of the Sideburn rifle.

I haven't tried this one out yet, but I have a new NOE in the mail on the way here and hope to try out 3 or 4 new molds that haven't seen any lead yet.
The newest member to the casting shelf is a .45 caliber version of the Turtle Buster. (a .357 bullet that I have posted about several times in the past)
NOE just took a HP 358432 and sized it up to make one in several calibers. I had the mold and Rangefinder hp'd it for me and I sent a few samples to NOE and they copied it.
Here's a pic from NOE's page...

IFFIN it's anything there like it is here, just lay a corn cob ingot on top and set her out in the sun bout 12:30-1:00. Come back an hour or so later, cut sprues, dump, and repeat

That's about right. Same way here. Whew!!!

I really want to cast some..... but after I sit in this 120° bus for 5 hours a day (6-1/2 on Thursday)..... I just can't make myself get out of the AC for more than 20 minutes when I'm home.:D

(no, none of our regular buses have AC.... only the 10 special needs buses have it. The other 100+ buses are just yellow convection ovens.)
