good mags to buy???

You can't just use a stock AK mag without modifying the mag or the rifle.

If you don't want to mess with it, Surefire (not the flashlight company) makes new polymer hi-caps for it, now. The new ones are made entirely in the US.

If you do, you'll need to dremel the latch and add a bullet guide to the rifle. If you do that, you'll need to change out more parts to US-made parts to satisfy 922(r).

Also, if you do modify the rifle to accept standard mags, the best, IMO, are the Bulgarian waffle mags, which are around $19 each. Beware, as ProMag makes a lookalike that's typical ProMag trash. The real ones have a "10" in a circle on the side.

is there someplace that has a step by step of putting the dremel the latch and adding a bullet guide?? preferably with pictures....


so if i modify my rifle will i still be able to use the stock mags or just the high cap mags??
