Good friend of mine picked up his new X bolt

he won in a drawing. It is a very pretty rifle, and just about every Browning I've ever been around would shoot. I have to say, however, the action is very clunky if that makes any sense. The friction noise of the bolt sliding is very annoying. I would not have bought the rifle it is so bad.

Maybe I'm just used to my old 700s and my pre 64 style Winchesters.

But for $25 worth of raffle tickets, I'd take it.:D

A light grease and go shoot it. X-bolt's break in quick. Mine felt a bit rough out of the box but it's silky smooth now. Mine had a lot of debris from the manufacturing process in the action and on the bolt. Brownish, black gritty stuff. Be sure to swab out the action.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Browning x-bolt. I have two A-bolt and they are both fine rifles. I think Browning makes a really nice rifle and my only complaint with Browning is that wimped out on their Boss system by eliminating the muzzle brake component of it.
