Good Deal?

I happened across a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec in Stainless with the night sights and the grips with the crossed cannons on it. All accressories included, as well as hard case, holster and lock.
Gun was being sold as used, although I couldn't see any noticeable wear at all. Like it was fired with a couple of boxes and the owner decided he didn't like it.
Gun shop was asking $495.00

Is this a good price on this gun? I've been looking at the Mil-Specs for a little while now.

Yup, decent deal. The basic GI model runs about $500 at my local gun store.

You gotta wonder why they 'didn't like it' though.

Owner may have bought it because it was relatively cheap, and had no experience with a 45. Seen that a lot. They buy a gun, shoot it, decide they made a mistake and find something else. Got quite a few deals that way.:p

Not bad! Put $100 into it for a feed-ramp polish, throat barrel, trigger job, and sight alignment, and you'll have a nice pistol for a nice price.

Plus, it's always good to get a holster in the deal!

Never pay the asking/retail price. The gun shop probably has a very large profit built in at $495; perhaps as much as $225 on the trade. You could buy a new one for close to that price!
