Glock 36s are out there!

Went to my favorite gus store today and they had a G36 in the display case. I handled it and these are my impressions:

It's thin. No, really. It seems about .40 sized. Fit my hand real well. I had my G30 on me, so I compared sizes. It is just a shade shorter than the 30 for slide length. Grip is decidedly thinner and matches the slide. I was very impressed with how tin they made it.

Downsides:
The barrel looked thin. I'd be surprised if the gun would handle the real hot loads (+P and +P+). 6+1 capacity and it will not take any other Glock mag. Last thing: price. They were asking 599 FRN.

IHMO:
I'll wait until they're common and cheap (450-500FRN) to buy one.

Glad to hear they're finally in the stores. I know a couple of Glockheads that have almost had anuirisms while waiting for this model.

I'm not sure how far down they'll come. They've been ballyhooed so much that demand will be high for a while. And when demand finally subsides then there will the matter of the new genrally higher prices thanks to all the litigation and shipping costs.
