Galil Ace

I love my Galil and recently learned of the Galil Ace, an updated (read lighter) version that will soon be here.

Any other known information such as what calibers, who will be the importer and when it will be available?

They are built here by IWI I believe. I think the pistol version is available currently. Not sure if the rifle is selling yet. Right now, just 7.62x39.

Sure, the pistols in 7.62x39 are widely available.

The pistols are easier to import since 922r compliance isn't required.

IWI seems awfully proud of them, as the pistols are going for $1500-1600, and the rifles should be closer to $1800 whenever they are available. IWI's facebook says in the next month or two.

I want a 223 rifle. My range doesn't allow .30 rifles on the plinking range for silly insurance reasons.

That's the main problem with these things. They are FAR overpriced for what they are.

Dredging up an older thread I know...but does anyone have one and care to give a report on how its been performing? I'm saving for the rifle but would like to hear some real life testimony on their experiences so far.

If I didn't have a 17s I think the Ace 308 would be in my safe,it's kinda sexy in a weird kinda way .
