I sold off my Colt Python a few months ago and I replaced it this weekend with
a NIB 6" Ruger GP100, it has a factory installed Red Front Sight.
The Ruger grip is much nicer and more comfortable than the Colt grip.

For all my love of the evil black gun, all six of my SPs (of course) and my three GPs are stainless. However that is a fine looking blued wonder. Had to buy the six after owning two 4" models and am pleased with it's longer barrel for shooting on the fifty yard line and handling wrist and thumb and forefinger web whomping loads usually cycled through shorter barrels. I pair my 4" KGP-141s with a Marlin 1894C.

Shoot it all you can and enjoy. Incidentally, all my Ruger DA wheelies get the Hogue finger groove grips.

nice, i have the same minus the red front sight. bought it two weeks ago.
i like the factory set up so far. its easy as hell to pull the trigger after you cock the hammer. it pretty firm just pulling the trigger but i don't mind it. if you've got time to aim then you've got time to thumb the hammer.

my friends dad has new springs in his stainless gp100. its been a while since i've shot it but maybe this weekend i'll be able to compare new to modified.

i was surprised how comfortable the grips are. i was disappointed that the store didn't have the new style grips but i pick this up and was sold. also looked at a torus (sp) and did not like the grips on it at all, felt loose and uncontrolled.

whats a good heavy load round i can buy locally? the first box was blazer 158 gr. it felt like my .22. i bought a box of winchester 110 gr. haven't shot any yet but there rated at 1295 f.p.s. and around 410 ft lbs. i'm lookin for some more kick.
