I am in possesion of a Sporterized 1903 Springfield with a Newton Arms barrel on a Bishop stock. Im trying to find some History from whomever owned it before and may find someone on one of my gun sights that may have seen it before. I dont believe it was from Newton Arms as the receiver is dated 1928, past the date that Newton went bankrupt the 3rd time. The barrel is stamped Buffalo, NY which would put the barrel coming from the 1st Newton factory in 1916-1918ish. I got it from Garner, NC so it looks like it did some traveling and it really looks different as the barrel is chromed. It would definetly stand out. It's a shot in the dark, but I may get some tips about FFL's that had Newton barrels. Any way, that's my story

Man when that was made when no FFL was required. If you had the money you could mail order anything you wanted if you had the money.
