Franken BCG for Franken Upper?

More of just a curiosity question than anything.

Have any of you successfully pieced together a BCG from parts of differing sources.

I may piece together a spare 20-24" upper just to have around while prices are low. And as a method of spreading the cost out potentially assembling the bolt piecemeal.

Some weeks 100$ out of a paycheck may hurt, other times no problem.

So somehow this ended up in the wrong forum, can I please get a free ride to the semi-auto forum?

I would assume as long as the gas key is staked well, and all the different parts were new and in spec, it wouldn't really matter where they were from, I could be completely wrong though.

If they are good parts, yes. I have built most of my BCGs from parts. Somewhat because I wanted to run the sealed, instead of staked, carrier key and the POF roller cam. Works so well, I have built several more for the calibers like .300BO, 6.5PCC, .450BM etc.

I have a Chrome M16 bolt carrier and an np3 coated bolt paired together in my AR - they work just fine.
