Frangible bullets

I was wondering what the thoughts out there are on using frangible bullets in steel challange matches. It seems frangible cost about 40% of what lead cost in the same caliber. When you talk about 200 or more rounds per day cost is a factor to most folks.

Thoughts or opinions.

The fragible must have dropped quite a bit in price, they were higher then lead at one time.
The frangible bullets will work, if you are handloading frangible bullets be careful to not over crimp. To much crimp can cause the bullet to come apart as soon as the gun is fired.

HUM mixed info on prices

Hunter now I am confused. I was basing my cheaper than lead on information provided by a local shop. Now that I've checked a couple of on line places I am not so sure about a savings using frangible. Maybe the local guy was trying to dump inventory when I talked to him.

Prices on the net seem to be more like three times the price for frangible over lead.

At Midway Remington 38 cal 110 HP are $ 83/1000 for lead
At Frangiblebullets.com 38 cal 110 HP are $ 223/1000 for frangible.

Those prices place lead at 40% of the cost of frangible. Just the opposite of the info give by my local shop.
