Franchi SPAS 12

I bought a Franchi SPAS 12 recently and I'd like to know which ammo do you recomernd for this gun (buck and slug)

A good friend of mine ownes a SPAS... Me and him went out trying to get a poacher one night. I had my SIG P220... and felt pretty naked out in the brush. He pulled out his SPAS - and boy did I feel better. Let me E mail him and I'll get back to you on his favorite loads for it.

Hey Hernan,
Got ahold of my former partner. His SLUG of choice was the same as mine for my MOSS 590, Remington Solid Copper Hollow Point Sabots.
His best Shot Load was also Remington Double Ought Buck Premium loads. I used something else for my shot load (Fletchets). He said his gun ran smooth with that diet, I have no reason to think they wouldn't. He also said to fire only high powered loads as light loads tended to jam it up.

I didn't think that mattered too much since you can switch the gun to pump action mode... but what do I know? I don't own a SPAZ 12.

A good thing to do is try several brands of buck and slug and see which one seems to pattern best with your particular gun and barrel. The Federal Tactical 00 Buck seems to pattern tight and consistent in most guns. It is in use by many law enforcement agencies that are knowledgable in those areas.

As to slugs, try 5 or 10 rounds of a few and see how it groups at the distance you anticipate.
