FP vs SWC

Being a bullseye shooter, I naturally gravitate toward SWC 200gr or 185 in 45acp.
As there is by no means an abundant supply of SWC in stock, I am tempted to buy some FP in 200gr.
Will this cause any problem in loading other than the overall length? I like the SWC because of its shoulder, which the FP does not have.
I have plenty of coated lead SWC, but the smoke from them is a problem in
my indoor range, never mind the uncoated lead smokers!

FP and SWC

Ok, I thought this got posted as a reply, so I will try again.
I am using Missouri-coated bullets, but they smoke enough that I would like
to quit using them indoors.
I got on Berry's site, they don't show SWC, just FP plated bullets.

My question was about any change needed in the seating depth of the bullet,
or just pay attention to the overall length, which I think is C.O.L.

There may need to be some adjustments from bullet type to bullet type . I know my FP are not seated to exactly the same COAL as my SWC . Heck My Speer SWC is not seated to the same COAL as my Missouri SWC but they are both seated to there respective crimp grooves .

SWC and full wadcutter bullets tend to cut nice clean full caliber holes in paper targets. This is because of the "sharp /square" shoulder, RN,, FP and HP bullets that don't have that shoulder tend to tear the paper, "pushing" some of it out of their way as they pass through. and then that material partially returns after the bullet is through, resulting in ragged holes that appear smaller than the actual bullet diameter.

THis makes scoring the targets a bit more difficult, and why wadcutters /SWC are preferred for match work.

You may, or may not have to adjust your seating die to compensate for the length of a different bullet.

Midway actually has 45 bullets on sale right now.

I tend to shoot Missouri 185gr LSWC also. Usually loaded over some Green Dot.
