I have no idea why they are so hard to find nowadays or why nobody really makes them anymore but I have had a longing for a nice little 22LR kit gun. I've been searching the used shelves and gun shows every weekend in hopes of finding one that isn't exorbitantly priced with no luck. I was holding out for a S&W but when I saw this little Rossi 511 sitting on the used shelf today I just had to take it home.
It still locks up really nice and doesn't appear to have ever really been shot much. The stainless steel is pretty decent quality and the fit and finish are much better than my Taurus (which is way too large to really be considered a "kit gun").
Anyways here are the pics:
It always impresses me how much a little elbow grease and some Flitz can turn a gun around.
