He opposed concealed carry.

He opposed military pattern semi-automatic firearms.

Now he sits in the jail which is named after him charged with trading drugs for sex.

He allegedly used his power to intimidate young boys and men and is also alleged to have HIV, which could cause additional charged to be levied.

THE PROBABLE CAUSE STATEMENT

He was sheriff from 1984 to 2002. He was national Sheriff of the Year in 2001.

While he was trampling on the rights of lawful firearms owners, he ALLEGEDLY led a dual life which revolved around sex and drugs -- specifically methamphetamine.

This morning a judge doubled his bail from $250k to $500k.

CENTENNIAL — Authorities began investigating former Araphoe County Sheriff Patrick Sullivan after a Centennial man called police in September and said "an old guy" was trying to get his roommates back into drugs and had been smoking methamphetamine with them, according to a police report.

When the Centennial man asked Sullivan to leave and said he was going to call 911, Sullivan told the man "If you want the police I am the police," the man told officers.

I read about this and didn't bring it here because his stance on firearms ownership is not part of this story.

Interesting, but not firearms related.
