FN HiPower Safety

I have a HiPower made around 1988. Bought it from AIM Surplus. It shoots very good and is 100% reliable so far.
It has the small thumb safety. I would like to know how hard it would be to swap the safety for a larger one, and which one I should use.
Would like to do this myself if possible.

Cylinder & Slide makes a nice replacememnt saftey for the HP. It can be had either left side single or ambidextrious. If you can totally disassemble your gun, you can probably handle the installation. It does require some fitting. If you have any doubts, let a good gunsmith do it.

Check out brownells web site. You can order the current factory ambi safety. You should have a smith install it though.
