Firearms -Some changes: Models, price, etc.

We had some pretty nice summer and fall firearms promotions on rifles and and some S&W handguns. Now it is that time of year for price increases, price decreases, model changes and discontinued items. Here is a partial list.

A lot is happening so HOLD ON and LOOK BELOW!

Marlin:
-XS7 & XL7 model numbers have changed to X7; part #s/UPCs remain the same, no design changes, just Marlin's move to simplify. This will be an in-line change so you might order X7 but still get the previous model # stamp as that is what we still have in stock.
-Model 9's are being replaced by Model XT - the only design change is replacement of the standard trigger with a new ProFire Adjustable Trigger (Part# 70721 replaces 70720; 70712 replaces 70710; 70821 replaces 70820)

Savage:
-Stevens Model 200's prices have gone up 15% on average for 2011

CZ-USA:
Most prices for pistols have been reduced. Rifles are about the sames as 2010.


EDIT: 10:51 pm 12/17/2010 - The Taurus list of discontinued items below seems to be extreme. These models may not have been discontinued by Taurus as the list reads. It may be that they were only discontinued by Taurus to one major Distributor. Verification will definitely follow on Monday 12/20/2010.

Savage:
-has renamed the EDGE centerfire rifles to AXIS, no design changes

Walther:
-Models PK380 and P22 are being transitioned to "no-internal-lock" designs by Walther. The part #s are changing from WAPxxxxx to WANxxxxx. We will be making these updates in our system as the new design becomes available after the previous one sells out. The WAP22010/WAN22010 (P22 3.4" w/lasersight) was already updated in September and the most recent update is the WAP22003/WAN22003 (P22 3.4" Blued).

I did a double take when I read the Taurus notice and thought, I better take another look thinking these models may just be discontinued from one distributor. Not all distributors carry a manufacturers full line. After looking a second time, it said discontinued by Taurus so I went ahead and posted.

Some of these guns do not sell well but the 708 did. So, now I too am questioning this.

I didn't get the notice until after 5 pm tonight so I can't check on it until Monday. I could pull the thread until then.

The list will need to be verified but I can't do it until Monday. If it turns out that only one of my distributors is being discontinued by Taurus for some reason, I will also post that since they are a large distributor.

For now, please sit tight until Monday. I am going to add an edit to the Taurus list for clarification.

Nice to see prices drop for a change.

As for Taurus, they have a rather extensive catalog anyway; the number of variations of certain guns that they claim to carry are insane (although some of those may not be actually available most of the time). I wouldn't be surprised if they finally realized they'd be better off to dial back their catalog a bit to saner levels.

These models are discontinued as of now. The exact date was probably about 12/15/2010.

I spoke with Taurus to confirm and they did. All the models in my previous post have been discontinued.

Some of the older models like the 24/7-Pro will be updated to a newer product. I didn't catch the new series name. I don't understand Spanish too well. Call 305-624-1115 if you care to hear it for yourself.

The PT 708 never came into production and will not.

Some of the other models are titanium and are were too expensive to produce so they were dropped.

Other models were just retired.

I haven't called, but since Taurus is a Brazilian company, I'm betting it's Portuguese. So even if you spoke Spanish, I'm not sure how much help that would be...
