Finally...

after 5 weeks of waiting, my Glock 19 is home. Can't wait this weekend to shoot it. Any advice on what to do first.

I would make sure it's not bone dry in the slide rails, but it is a Glock! Just go out and shoot the heck out of it and enjoy. The G19 was the first handgun I ever owned. Have fun!

Field strip then clean and lube.

Also

Get some snap caps and have fun dry fireing until you can go shoot it.

After cleaning and lubing I'm ready for tomorrow. I wonder why nobody suggested shooting it.

Have you thought about shooting it? Just a crazy idea I had....

1) Read supplied instruction manual and follow pre-shooting
    instructions found there, if any.

2) Load magazine(s).

3) Insert magazine in gun.

4) Empty magazines by shooting at safe target of your choice.

5) If ammo remains goto #2
       else clean gun

6) Buy more ammo

7) Goto #2
