I've been encouraging my father to purchase a handgun for the last few years... Something for home defense and the occasional CCW.
I'm happy to say that he finally bit the bullet and picked up a Ruger SR9c last week. He was never that enthusiastic about owning a handgun, but after today's trip to the range I could tell he was pretty pumped about it.
As far as a "range report"... the gun functioned flawlessly, and after getting a feel for the sights, he was actually a pretty good shot! I was impressed with the Ruger. For a sub $400 gun it's hard to beat.
Anyway, it was fun and I'm glad to have a new shooting buddy. He takes his CCW class tomorrow and I have a feeling the gun disease will only spread from there
