You have to push the receiver cover retainer button that is on the left side of the receiver. Push in the button and lift off the receiver cover. It will come right off. The same goes when you reinstall the receiver cover. Originally, the button was put there to keep the receiver from flying off when firing grenades.
Other than that, the takedown is the same as any AK.
