I have some "FFFg Superfine Black Powder".
All I've ever used is pyrodex.
Will this stuff work for my in-line?
And what does the "FFFg" stand for?

Howdy,

FFFg refers to the size of the granules of the BP. 1F is the largest, down to 4f which is only for priming the pan on flintlocks, and not for use in the firearm itself. I'm sure someone else will jump in here with more info about proper loads for your inline.

Don't see why it wouldn't be. 4F is normally used for priming flintlocks (I use 3F with no problems), and 3F is the general choice for anything upwards of .54 caliber.

Larger than that and you may want to use 2F.

Your owner's manual should cover this.

Go ahead and use your fffg in your inline. You will not be able to shoot as many shots without cleaning as you can with pyrodex as black powder fouls more. You may also want to back off about 10 percent on your load as finer powder tends to be a little faster burning.
