feeding problem

Good Morning, I need some help. Just received a nice Star Modello Super A from Sarco. I have a problem with feeding rounds - 9mm Largo -.

With a full clip the round will not tilt enough to enter the chamber. The pistol is then stuck with the slide open.With from 3 to 4 rounds in the magazine it will chamber. There is no apparent extraction problem. This happens with two magazines and 9mm Santa Barbara 9mm Largo ammunition.

Does anybody have an idea, or better yet a solution?

I would suspect a mag spring that is not strong enough to push all the rounds all the way to the top of the mag, thus causing them to stay low and nose dive into your feedramp.

With a partial mag, the spring's strong enough to feed them, but not when its fully compressed.

Sounds like the lips of the mag need adjusting. Have some WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING take a look at it.
