Just got a pound of Winchester 231 and some 185 grain Montana Gold JHPs for my Glock 30.

What are your most accurate loads that the your subcompact 45 loved?

I use 6.5 grains of Win 231 with the 185g bullets.
You will have to test and see what your pistol likes. I would say start at 6 grains and work up to 6.5 and see what shoots best.

What do you set OAL at? I just loaded 185 JHPs for the first time, over 6.5 gr. of 231, OAL of 1.190". The Lymans manual suggested 1.175.

Looking at some of the reloading manuals suggesting seating a 185 grain JHP to 1.175" OAL (Lyman).

The manual also suggested that 6.0 was the most accurate load but I believe that was for a 5" barrelled 45 ACP.

What are your targets telling you are the most accurate loads and are your actions working fine.

Any more ideas for people with subcompact 45s?

Hi CCV! See I'm trying new powders not just Universal and TiteGroup!

Enjoy yourself JT. My guess is you will come back into the TiteGroup fold after your experimenting is done.

Good Shooting

My wife's SA Ultra Compact (3") ported barrel shoots amazing groups with 5.5gr. SWC's at 1.57" It shoots so well with it, I chose to use it when I shot my NRA pistol instructor's course/
