Failure to feed on Ruger 22/45

I have a nice Ruger, Volquartsen modified trigger. I removed the rear sight to fit a rail on it. The sight required a lot of pounding in
a padded vise to remove it, but did not seem to bother any parts.
When I went to sight it in, the damn thing would not feed.
Before this, it fed nicely.
Question: what could I have done to mess it up?:mad:

Seriously, there is not enough information to know.

Have you checked your magazine?
Have you tried different ammunition?
Have you cleaned and inspected your chamber and barrel? The feed ramp?
Does the bolt move freely by hand?

sorry, I was a bit panicky. Then I thought about it, cleaned the pistol, flexed
the extractor manually a few times, and that fixed it. I must have jammed the extractor when pounding, when I stupidly left the firing pin/extractor assembly in the pistol. Common sense was not present.
Took it to the range and shot 200 rounds with essentially no problems, although a note: Norma is greasy while Federal is not-it liked the federal
better.

You beat it to death !

The answer isn't alway's use a bigger hammer or hit it harder .

Take it down and make sure all moving parts are moving and all fixed parts are fixed ...
and try it's favorite ammo in a good magazine . Maybe the pounding jarred something out of place .
