Factory or Aftermarket?

I have a Sig Sauer p229 in .40 s&w. I am looking to get a 357 sig barrel for it. Will an aftermarket barrel be more accurate than a factory one, or should I go for the Sig barrel?

for 'drop in'

Suggest cheapest, or factory.

What brand(s) considered?

"hard fit", best. Sometimes even the standard barrel will become stellar if fit well (recently proved on one of my 1911s; had EGW hard-fit the stock barrel for my 5" Springfield Armory 9x19 version).

I am looking at the factory .357 sig barrel and the Semi drop in from barsto. What is semi-drop in?

"semi" (means a big truck is about to roll over you)

'semi drop-in' means that some fitting may be required.

Of the two, unless you have mechanical skills and patience, I'd suggest the SIG barrel as the easiest choice.

The cartridge/barrel combination can be very accurate.

I have factory drop in .40 barrels for my 357SIG P226's and P229's. They do drop right in with no fiddling and are as accurate as the gun comes from the factory.
