I'm looking at picking up a NIB TZ-75 at a good price. I know .41 AE is obsolete, I plan to Handload.

What I'm wondering is about F.I.E. what is the qaulity like ?

Not too good right now, considering that they went out of business years ago.

After FIE went bust, the EAA (European American Armory)company began to import the Tanfoglio guns.

EAA guns are excellent quality, but the 41AE is pretty well extinct, and I don't know of any gun company selling 41AE guns or barrels.

If however, you've found an older NIB FIE gun, the quality was pretty good, and stayed good right up to the end.

Thanks, I saw a John Taffin article on the round but not the gun. I just wondered if anybody knew anything. No matter the price if it's junk I don't want to waste the money.

IMI lists the 41 AE but the don't make it.

Qaulity Cartridge out of Maryland still makes the brass, there really the only place for stuff like that, just FYI.

I've never really looked to compare the two. I wonder how the .41AE case stacks up in capacity and strength compared to the .40S&W.

Supposedly it's fits the criteria for what Elmer Kieth etc.... was asking for when they came out with the 41 mag.

200 grains at 1000 fps.

450 Ftlbs

The bullet should have a better coefficient than the 40.
