Eye / Ear protection

Can someone point a newbie to best choices on eye and ear protection? Don't need anything electronic, just quality.

TIA!

Blades, are you saying that there's really nothing 'special' to 'firearm glasses'? IOW, will any wraparound lens do? I was always led to believe that there was some sort of standard that was unique to shooting glasses pertaining to impact resistance. So, if I already own a pair of Oakley M frames, I can just buy a different lens, and I'm OK?

Oakley

It is my belief that the Oakley lenses, at least the M series, meet OSHA standards for impact and shatter-resistnce for many industrial applications. I have smoked lenses for mine (non-reflective) and have some clear lenses on the way. I've taken some brass to the lens before and the gray lens didn't even scratch. (Be careful, because sometimes the mirrored finish ones will.)

ONE SET EACH

Ears: use both foam plugs AND muffs (Peltor).

Eyes: use good-quality product, like Gargoyles or Oakley, and ALWAYS wear them around shooting (and loading).
