Essex frames

Has anyone here ever dealt with essex frames in 45 cal.I saw what appeared to be an essex frame with another name brand slide that was attached to it.They wanted 400.00 for it but until i'm given better info i'm not takin any chances.What do ya'll think.

there is nothing wrong with Essex frames, there may be something wrong with whom ever built it from the frame up. I consider parts guns (unless I know the builder,) to be worth the sum of their parts minus 25 %.
