Hey all,

Ive decided to take the plunge into NFA weapons. Just ordered an AAC 762sdn6 and also want to submit a form 1 to turn one of my ARs into an SBR.

Ive heard that i need to engrave my info on the lower.
1. Is that in fact the case, or is the existing s/n all thats needed?

2. If i DO need to engrave, do i put the name of the trust as the maker?

I know a bunch of you have been doing this for years (like since bow and arrow days :D)

Thanks for the input.

Use the SN that is on the lower

If the trust is the entity registering the AR as a SBR on the Form 1 you submitted to the ATF, the full name of the trust must be engraved on the lower. Along with your city and state.

Engraving must be a minimum of 1/16 high and .003 deep.

Your engraving (as the Form 1 maker) must include:
Name
City, State
Model
Caliber
S/N

You can (and are encouraged to) use the existing s/n. So long as the caliber and model name do not change, you can adopt those also.

You must engrave the name of the maker (if it is a trust, you must use the full name of the trust). The state can be abbreviated (e.g., Cincinnati, OH).

Thanks. Thats what i had heard

Can the engraving be done inside the trigger guard, on the bottom of the receiver?

Trying to make it as unobtrusive as possible
